Hi there, I’m Avery
I work as a project manager. I’m a parent, and I’m an expat living in Springfield, United States.
A few years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United States wasn't part of the plan for the long term. Like many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, met other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Cliff Ember Water
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourist content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in United States.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights gained from living in United States
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site isn't:
- An authoritative tourism resource
- A paid review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in United States continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Springfield or anywhere in United States, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Avery
